Tinker Crates - Animation

We got to create a Zoetrope with this Tinker Crate! These are so much fun!
Get $10 off your own Tinker Crate! Please use the link so Jayden gets credit for it!
I love that we can just look on YouTube if we have an issue with putting one of the kits together. It makes things less stressful for Jayden.
In addition to the main project there is a booklet with every box that has activities and other ideas to learn even!

Our First Tinker Crate! December 8, 2014

Each crate comes with everything needed to create a project as well as a TinkerZine with information and ideas for additional activities to go with the main project. I found the youtube video for putting the kit together very helpful!

Our first Crate was Electricity at Work with all the items needed to create your own motor.

The hardest part for Jayden was getting the coil tight around the disc. Otherwise he was able to do all of it on his own. We still did it together with Juli's help.

They were both so excited when they got the motor working!

This crate is Jayden approved!

To get your own crate, follow this link so Jayden and Julianna get credit for it!

Lego Land Center Atlanta, GA - November 19, 2015

LegoLand in Atlanta hosted a homeschool week. While the kids had fun, it is a small area and geared more toward younger children.

How many bricks do you weigh?

How do you stack up to the bricks?

The kids loved the spy tunnel! They had to make it all the way through with out triggering a laser beam.

They had fun competing against each other for the highest score. You had to hit the right square when it lit up. They were funny dancing around as they played.

They divided into teams and tried to build a tower to withstand the shaking machine.

Juli had a blast swinging back and forth in the soft play area.

This girl loves to sing!

I lost count of how many times we rode this thing!

We had the theater to ourselves for the 4D movie.

Another ride that we rode multiple times. This one included laser guns that we used to rack up points with.

This girl loves money... a little to much!

Villains Homeschool day at the Atlanta History Center October 8, 2014

The Atlanta History Center puts on an amazing homeschool day every month. This one was definitely one of the best that they have done yet! Every time we go, the crowds get larger. The homeschool events only run for about 3 hours and it's just not enough time to participate in every activity!
We watched a game show about Monsters in History.

Learning all about Art Heists and how to reenact one! The kids had sooooo much fun with this and still talk about it a month later! They all had a part to play, there was a distracter, the art thief, the art dealers etc..

Smart kid! See Julianna standing under the easel? There were tons of kids crowding around to hear their instructions and she found a safe place to stand.

Both Jayden and Julianna were supposed to be distracting the security cameras. They each had hats to disguise themselves and were dancing and singing in front of a fake security camera. Now whenever Jayden sees a security camera he waves at it!

We learned about PT Barnum and some of his performers.

The kids loved hearing all about Blackbeard the Pirate and then had fun trying to use the slingshot to knock bottles off of other boats. They also learned about the pirate code of conduct.

A Julianna sized house! She had fun playing inside the house.

We learned about the rise and fall of Benedict Arnold.

Poor puppy, she looks so sad when we leave her. She waits by the window for us to return!

May 16, 2014 - Last day at sea on the Carnival Liberty

Chocolate buffet! Yes, please!!

The kids had fun at camp saying good-bye to their new friends and making t-shirts.

One last game before dinner.

What a beautiful sunset.

We watched the LEGO movie the last night on the top deck.
